Context
context/ holds what the product is, and what future work must know.
| File | It holds |
|---|---|
positioning.md | Who it is for, the problem, what it replaces, and what it is not |
non-goals.md | What the product does not do |
glossary.md | One word for each thing |
decisions/ | One file for each decision, with its reason and its consequences |
rules/ | How to do the work on this product |
#Who changes it
You, and accept. A skill does not change context/ directly. It writes each change under ## Context changes of the task or the exploration. Each item gives:
- The file: positioning, non-goals, glossary, a rules file, or a new decision.
- The old text, when there is one.
- The new text.
- The reason.
When you accept a change task, accept shows each item. You can accept, change or drop it. A new decision goes in a new file, decisions/<number>-<slug>.md. Each other item changes the text in the file that it names. The items that it wrote are listed under ## Promoted of the task.
When an input only changes the positioning or a non-goal, and gives no other work, intake tells you to change context/ directly.
#Explorations
Accepting an exploration does not change context/. intake copies the changes of an exploration to the change tasks that it makes from it, and they reach context/ when you accept those tasks.
#What goes in it
Keep a fact in its task or exploration. When a future task will get it wrong without the fact, write it under ## Context changes.
